1. Scope of Work

Handyman Services Lancashire or ‘the contractor’ will carry out the agreed works at the Client’s property as described in the written estimate or job sheet.

Any additional or varied works must be agreed in writing before commencement.

2. Start Date & Duration

Work will begin on the date mutually agreed.

Timeframes are estimates and may vary due to material availability, unforeseen site conditions, or weather.

3. Pricing & Payment

• Pricing may be fixed, hourly, or per‑project as stated in the estimate.
• Payment for materials is due one working day before work is to commence and the remainder is due on completion of works, unless otherwise agreed.
• Late payments may incur interest at up to 8% above the Bank of England base rate.
• Materials may be charged separately if not supplied by the Client.

Payment may be made by bank transfer, cash, credit or debit card.

All major credit and debit cards accepted.

4. Consumer Cancellation Rights

If the Client is a consumer, they may cancel within 14 days of signing unless they request work to begin sooner.

If work starts during the cooling‑off period, the Client must pay for work completed up to the point of cancellation.

5. Insurance

The Contractor will maintain public liability insurance at a level appropriate for the work and provide proof upon request.

6. Quality & Workmanship

All work will be carried out with reasonable care and skill in accordance with the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

Any defects arising within 6 months of completion will be remedied at no extra cost if we supplied the materials.

7. Compliance & Restrictions

The Contractor will comply with relevant building regulations. Notifiable electrical work under Part P will not be undertaken.

8. Client Responsibilities

• Provide safe access to the work area.
• Ensure utilities (water, electricity) are available where required.
• Inform the Contractor of any known hazards or structural issues.

9. Materials

Responsibility for supplying materials will be stated in the estimate.

If the Contractor supplies materials, these will be charged at cost plus any agreed markup.

10. Variations

Any change to the agreed scope must be confirmed verbally or in writing before work proceeds.

The Contractor will provide an updated estimate for approval.

11. Liability

The Contractor is not liable for:

• Pre‑existing faults or structural issues;
• Damage caused by materials supplied by the Client;
• Delays outside the Contractor’s control.

12. Termination & Cancellation

Either party may terminate the agreement if the other breaches its obligations and fails to remedy the breach within a reasonable period.

Any cancellation within 1 week of works commencing will incur a 50% charge of the original quote.

Any cancellation within 48 hours of works commencing will incur a 75% charge of the original quote.

Any cancellation within 24 hours of works commencing will incur a 100% charge of the original quote.

13. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

14. Other contractors

At times we may use external contractors or hired machinery for completion of works.

All external contractors have been fully vetted and this will not alter any guarantee to workmanship.

There will be no extra charge for the use of external contractors.

15. Images and videos

Any works may be photographed or video for use on advertising, social media or this website.

Images/photographs of children will be removed or blanked out prior to being made available to the public.
